Funding available for projects that reduce energy sector emissions Projects that develop new technology designed to cut the amount of greenhouse emissions produced by the energy sector can now apply for funding from the Western Australian Government. Up to $13.4 million funding will be made available by the State Government under the second funding round of its Low Emissions Energy Development Fund. A minimum of $250,000 will be provided towards each funded project, with project proponents required to match each dollar of the LEED funding with three dollars of funding from other sources. The closing date to submit applications for funding is September 11. The WA Government expects to announce the successful funding applicants by the end of 2008.
